USC vs. UCLA: Johnathan Franklin comes up big for Bruins...again

The UCLA Bruins were able to beat the crosstown rival USC Trojans on Saturday, 38-28 at the Rose Bowl, thanks in large part to senior running back Johnathan Franklin, who continued to add to his legacy with the Bruins.

Franklin ran for 160 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns, his eighth game with at least 100 yards rushing on the season. He ran for 97 yards in the second half alone, on 15 carries, including this 29-yard backbreaking touchdown with 4:02 remaining in the game to put the game away after USC had pulled to within three points.

Franklin's 18 career 100-yard games is second most in Bruins history, behind only the 20 such games by Gaston Green. Franklin already passed Green this year for most rushing yards in school history, and now has 4,099 yards on the ground in his illustrious UCLA career.

In his four seasons at UCLA, Franklin ran for 352 yards on 53 carries against USC, a whopping 6.64 yards per carry against the Trojans. And after Saturday's performance, Franklin and the Bruins now have a win, their first against USC since 2006.

To the Pac-12 Championship Game go the Bruins, where they will face either Stanford or Oregon.
