The USC Trojans might have an extra option at tailback on Saturday against the UCLA Bruins, as tailback Silas Redd is in uniform and participating in pregame warmups, the team announced. Meanwhile the Bruins will be without wide receiver Steven Manfro, as he will not suit up per Chris Foster of the Los Angeles Times.
Redd missed last week's win over the Arizona St. Sun Devils with an undisclosed injury, but on the season is the Trojans' leading rusher. Redd, the junior transfer from Penn State, has 732 yards on 135 carries this season, an average of 5.4 yards per rush, with nine rushing touchdowns.
Curtis McNeal has rushed for 497 yards and two touchdowns, an average of 6.0 yards per rush this season. He ran for a season high 163 yards on 31 carries for USC last week against ASU, with two touchdowns.
Manfro, the freshman receiver, is third on UCLA in both catches (27) and receiving yards (279), with one touchdown through the air. Manfro has also ran back four kickoffs for 80 yards.
