Junior Seau Tribute Planned For USC Home Opener

USC will pay tribute to Junior Seau at the Trojans' home opener against Hawaii at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, honoring the fallen Trojan with 80,000 commemorative wristbands.

"It’s an opportunity to recognize a Trojan who was one of the greatest athletes in USC football history," said Deborah Golian Castro, president and CEO of Creative Productions, a marketing agency led by Trojan alumni.

↵

The tribute will extend beyond the game. Castro and her team of creative designers, writers, web developers, and social media experts have set up a website, TrojanPride55.com, where fans and members of the extended Trojan family can share memories and pay tribute to Seau, who committed suicide earlier this year.

↵

"We encourage fans and friends to share their love for Junior." Jose Eskenazi, associate athletic director at USC, elaborates "The Trojan family is real and that’s what makes this tribute so special. It is all about Trojan pride."

A limited number of wristbands will be available to purchase online, the proceeds from which will be used to fund causes that support the study of brain injuries.
