2012 College Football Preseason Rankings: USC Sits At No. 3 Behind LSU, Alabama

With the return of Matt Barkley, Robert Woods and the addition of Silas Redd to the USC Trojans squad for the 2012-13 season, it's easy to see why they could be in the running for a national title. And with the release of the College football preseason rankings, the Trojans are seen at the third best school in the country, sitting behind only LSU and Alabama.

The Trojans received 19 first place votes, one more than LSU but one less than Alabama. They won't be the only Pac-12 school looking to make a title run though as the Oregon Ducks sit a few spots behind them at No. 5, while the Stanford Cardinal also cracked the top 25 with a No. 18 ranking.

The Washington Huskies got a number of votes but remain just outside the top 25 as the 26th best football program in the country heading into the season.
