NFL Draft 2012, Matt Kalil: USC OT Likely To Be Selected By Vikings

The 2012 NFL Draft is less than a month away. Top offensive tackle Matt Kalil of the USC Trojans likely has many teams interested, but only one will be able to claim him.

The latest mock draft over at Draft Tek suggests that the Minnesota Vikings will select Kalil as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Here is their analysis:

As discussed last week, Justin Blackmon seems to be gaining support among Viking faithful. I'm definitely a fan of Blackmon and would love to see him in purple, I just can't see how the Vikings would take the playmaking receiver when the O-line hasn't proven to be consistently capable of protecting QB Christian Ponder long enough for plays to develop. In other words, build the line first and take Kalil! Let's see what Ponder can do with a decent OL.

It has been expected for some time that the Vikings would look to beef up their offensive line by adding Kalil.
