NFL Mock Draft 2012: Vikings Select USC's Matt Kalil According to Don Banks' Final Mock

With the 2012 NFL draft only hours away, fans around the globe prepare to watch their favorite college players transition into the pro game, but it all starts with draft weekend.

Sports Illustrated's Don Banks has been cranking out his mock drafts, and in his final 7.0 version, he still has the Minnesota Vikings selecting Matt Kalil with the third overall pick.

Here is Banks with the commentary:

I know Morris Claiborne and Justin Blackmon remain in play for the Vikings, but when it's all said and done, I think general manager Rick Spielman wants to get his offensive line fixed first and foremost. Even ahead of a historically bad secondary. That's my logic in sticking with the USC offensive tackle and not going for the last-minute change of direction.

Kalil has seemed the fit for the Vikings for months, essentially since the very first mock drafts were being released this year. Now it can all come to fruition tomorrow, once and for all putting this baby to rest.
