NFL Mock Draft 2012: Dane Brugler's Final Mock Sends Nick Perry to Chicago at #19

We're t-minus one day until the 2012 NFL Draft and analysts and football writers around the nation are submitting their final mock drafts, basing their on the most current scuttlebutt and at time, insider information available. Generally speaking, the closer you get to the draft, the better the mocks do (though, I doubt many mock drafts could be considered 'reliable'), as compared to those from a couple of months, weeks, or even days ago. As writers try and get as close to the real thing as possible, they abandon their harebrained ideas and scenarios for what they believe will actually happen. With that in mind, it's interesting to note that CBS Sports and NFL Draft Scout's Dane Brugler mocked USC's Nick Perry to the Bears at 19 in his final iteration.

19. Chicago Bears
Nick Perry, DE, Southern California: The Bears will be searching for pass rush help on draft day and Nick Perry would be able to step in right away. He brings an intriguing blend of strength and speed off the edge and could have a Brian Orakpo-like impact as a pro. Perry isn't the most flexible athlete, but he blew up the Combine in February with a 4.58 40-yard dash, 38.5" vertical leap, 10'4" broad jump and 35 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

It would certainly be interesting if Perry goes as high as 19, considering he's projected as a second rounder by many outlets. Regardless, he'd probably be a nice fit in the Windy City, a team that runs a 4-3 scheme that would ask him to rush the passer like a wild banshee - likely what he'll be best at in the NFL.
