Nick Perry is one of the best defensive ends available in the 2012 NFL Draft, but who knows whether he can translate that production to the next level. Perry is one of the most athletic pass rushers out there, but it remains to be seen whether he can end up playing as either a defensive end or a linebacker. There is danger of him being a tweener as a pro, which could limit his production.
DraftTek releases his latest mock, and it has Perry falling to the second round at the 48th pick overall to the New England Patriots.
Their 3rd pick in this sim goes to the same side of the ball as the first 2. Shocking, isn't it? After adding a DT and CB a pass rusher is the next logical step. Perry was USCs best DL and named to the All-Pac 12 1st team following his junior season in which he accumulated 9.5 sacks. He's added bulk since the combine to convince 4-3 teams that he has the size to play DE. His quickness of the ball and strong upper body are his biggest assets.
