NFL Draft 2012: Matt Kalil Scouting Report And Possible Destinations

Is Matt Kalil a lock to go to the Minnesota Vikings at No. 3 overall in next week's draft?

A report on Thursday revealed that the Vikings are considering the former USC Trojan, along with cornerback Morris Clairborne and wide receiver Justin Blackmon. Minnesota's general manager, Rick Spielman reportedly has narrowed the team's No. 3 pick to those three names.

While most experts have the Vikings taking Kalil, the Vikings could use help in their secondary and their receiving corps. Clairborne could help the Vikings combat the passing offenses of Green Bay, Detroit and Chicago in the NFC North.

If for some reason Minnesota does not decide to take Kalil, they could trade down and still be able to draft Clairborne or Blackmon.

Another unlikely possibility involves Kalil dropping to No. 5 to the Tampa Bay Bucaneers. The Vikings could take Clairborne (a Bucs target) at No. 3 while the Browns could take Trent Richardson at No. 4 (a Bucs target).

Minnesota is still the most likely destination for Kalil, but never say never.
