Ever since the Washington Redskins moved up to claim the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the thought amongst all draft experts is that USC Trojans offensive tackle Matt Kalil would head north to the Minnesota Vikings. Given their struggles to protect Christian Ponder in the backfield last season, a sturdy tackle like Kalil could do wonders for their young quarterback and his development.

According to the latest mock draft conducted by USA Today, all five of their analysts had Kalil going No. 3 overall to Minnesota. The panel of experts included staff writers Jarrett Bell, Jim Corbett and Nate Davis, along with Rob Rang of NFL Draft Scout and Wes Bunting of National Football Post.

There always seems to be a curveball or two thrown during the first round of the draft, but it really does look like Kalil will indeed be a Viking this time next week.
