After a great finish and a top 10 ranking to end 2011, there is a lot of buzz surrounding USC Trojans football heading into 2012. With quarterback Matt Barkley returning for his senior season for "unfinished business," things should be exciting at the Coliseum this season. Fans get their first look at the Pac-12 Conference favorites with the annual spring game on Saturday. Here are the details:
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Gates Open: 12:30 p.m.
Location: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
Injury Report: Tight end Randall Telfer, linebacker Dallas Kelley, and linebacker Marcus Simmons are all out for the Trojans on Saturday. In addition, head coach Lane Kiffin said there will be no tackling during the spring game, in an effort to "stay healthy."
Like A Game: Coaches will call plays from the sidelines rather than from behind the huddle, trying to emulate real game situations.
Not Just Barkley: Most eyes will be on Barkley, a Heisman Trophy candidate, but there is also competition for his backup. Max Wittek and Cody Kessler will see plenty of reps on Saturday.
