Former USC Trojan Nick Perry has been going all over the board in the first round of most mock drafts as a number of teams are in need of improvement at defensive end and/or outside linebacker. One of those teams is the New York Giants, who according to Sports Illustrated's Don Banks and his latest mock draft will be the team selecting Perry No. 32 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Here is Banks with the commentary on Perry's fit in New York:
The Giants have greater needs at running back, offensive tackle and inside linebacker, but Perry carries a first-round grade and New York sticks with its belief that you can never have too many quality pass rushers. Perry might even be able to play at weakside linebacker in the NFL, which would allow the Giants to shift Michael Boley to the middle.
Obviously the G-Men have a number of ways to use their first round pick, but if a quality defensmen the caliber of Perry falls all the way to 32nd, they might as well pick him up. He very well could already be gone though.
