NFL Draft Trade: Redskins-Rams Deal Solidifies Matt Kalil No. 3 To Minnesota Vikings

The first major deal for the 2012 NFL Draft was reportedly made on Friday night and it involved the Washington Redskins and St. Louis Rams. While neither of these were directly linked to the Los Angeles teams, it does signify something: with Robert Griffin III heading to the Redskins with the No. 2 overall pick, Matt Kalil is the heavy favorite to be selected third overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports tweeted the news just moments ago:

Major scoopage: Redskins have agreed to a trade w Rams for #2 pick of draft. Rams and Skins swap first rounders this yr w Rams also getting 2 future #1s and additional picks. Story coming on fox sports dot com

Many mock drafts had Kalil heading north to Minnesota and this all-but-confirms those projections. There is still some time left before the 2012 NFL Draft, but it's probably safe for the former USC Trojans standout to start checking the housing market in Minneapolis.
