NFL Draft 2012: Matt Kalil Goes Third To Minnesota Vikings In SB Nation Mock Draft

With free agency impacting how teams go about the draft, draft gurus can sometimes be all over the place with who they think will land in certain places. But at the top of the draft, more of a consensus is coming together.

No. 1 Andrew Luck. No. 2 Robert Griffin III. And no. 3? USC offensive tackle Matt Kalil.

In SB Nation's latest mock draft, they have Kalil going third to the Minnesota Vikings. In his own interesting way, SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber breaks down how the Vikings and Detroit Lions have switched places in the world order of the NFL and how it is time for the Vikings to get back to making the right decisions.

It starts with Kalil.

Van Bibber calls Kalil the best offensive tackle prospect since Jake Long and someone who could be a franchise cornerstone. He does have doubts whether or not the Vikings will pull the trigger due to their recent decisions (John Carlson?) but he hopes that they won't pass up on a talent like Kalil who plays a position every team needs solidified before making any major progress in the right direction.
