Early in the second half it looked like the USC Trojans would have their second straight close game against the California Golden Bears, as the Trojans were down only three points in the first minute after halftime. However, Cal put an end to any upset thoughts by dominating the rest of the game, en route to a 75-49 win at Galen Center on Thursday night.
USC (6-19, 1-11) has lost three straight games and 15 of their last 17 contests.
Maurice Jones led the Trojans with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting, but unfortunately his teammates shot 26.5% from the field (13 for 49). USC was outrebounded 41-28, as David Kravish had 18 boards for Cal (19-6, 9-3).
Allen Crabbe scored 19 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out four assists for the Bears. Harper Kamp added 18, as the duo combined to make 17 of 23 field goals (73.9%) in the game.
USC hosts Stanford on Saturday afternoon.
