NFL Mock Draft 2012: Todd McShay Predicts Nick Perry To Tennessee Titans In First Round

The 2012 NFL Draft is right around the corner and Nick Perry is one of the higher regarded defensive ends available on draft boards. While some view Perry as a bit of a project at the next level, he has the skill and athleticism to become a star in the NFL with proper coaching and development. Todd McShay of ESPN recently released his mock draft and had the former Trojan standout going to the Tennessee Titans in the first round.

20. Nick Perry, DE, USC

The Titans have three defensive ends set to become free agents and need a dynamic pass-rusher to complement Derrick Morgan. While Perry is raw, he has good initial burst and natural pass-rush skills. Cornerback, safety and offensive line are also need areas, but Perry makes the most sense in this situation.

The Titans sure seem like a team right on the cusp of breaking out and an elite pass rusher like Perry could be the missing piece on defense. As for Perry, along with Matt Kalil, those two are both currently projected for the top-20 picks, something very few football programs can lay claim to.
