2012 NFL Mock Draft: Nick Perry A Fit For San Diego Chargers

USC Trojans defensive end Nick Perry figures to join teammate Matt Kalil as a first round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Both have a chance to wow scouts and executives at the USC pro day on March 7, but as of now most of the prognosticators have Perry being picked later in the first round. Two CBS Sports analysts predict Perry will end up with the San Diego Chargers.

In his latest mock draft for CBS Sports, Rob Rang has Perry getting picked No. 18 by San Diego, noting, "Perry, who led the Pac-12 with 9.5 sacks as a junior and may be just scratching the surface of his potential, may be able to provide the consistent pass rush that 2009 first-round pick Larry English has thus far been unable to give the Chargers."

Fellow CBS Sports analyst Dane Brugler agrees, noting the Chargers will benefit from Perry, whom Brugler describes as "a hybrid, athletic edge rusher with a nose for the ball and the motor to create pressure in the backfield."

The Trojans have had 15 first round picks in the last 10 NFL drafts.
