NFL Mock Draft 2012: Matt Kalil Slotted In Between Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III

It seems no matter how many mock drafts there are, most if not all slate former USC Trojans All-American left tackle Matt Kalil as the top offensive lineman to be taken in the 2012 NFL Draft. Looking at the latest mock drafts at CBS Sports by Rob Rang and Dan Brugler, Kalil is slated either No. 2 or No. 3, in both cases in between quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III.

Brugler projects Kalil to be picked second overall by the St. Louis Rams but he admits there is some apprehension. "St. Louis will have a new front office, meaning a change at quarterback is not out of the question," Brugler said. "However, the Rams are expected to stick with Sam Bradford and focus on the numerous other needs on the roster."

Kalil was part of a USC offensive line that saw quarterback Matt Barkley sacked just eight games in 12 games, and Kalil himself allowed zero sacks. Rang has the Rams taking wide receiver Justin Blackmon, with Kalil falling the Minnesota Vikings at No. 3.

"Considering the pass rushers in the NFC North division, high-caliber blindside tackles are required. The Vikings aren't likely to pass on an opportunity to draft a future Pro Bowler. That's exactly what Kalil represents," said Rang.
