Nick Perry, the former standout defensive end with the USC Trojans, has all of the potential in the world and could become an elite pass rusher at the next level. While some teams have concerns that he will need years of coaching to amount into a starter, many will point at guys like Aldon Smith and Von Miller who excelled in their rookie seasons despite having a lot to learn.
This latest mock draft from NFL Draft Update has Perry going No. 20 overall to the Tennessee Titans, who definitely could improve their defensive line.
A high motor speed rusher with tremendous quickness. Nick Perry is raw, but possesses loads of upside. The Titans ranked 31st in sacks in 2011 and whether he starts from day one or not, he bolsters Tennessee's pass rush instantly. Perry's also an ideal compliment to 2010 1st round pick Derrick Morgan.
Perry will need to have a strong showing at both the USC Pro Day and the NFL Combine if he hopes to stay in the first round. With the athleticism and size that he possesses, the smart money is to bet on him having a big day.
