USC Football Signing Day: Trojans Add Signatures From Gerald Bowman, Jabari Ruffin, Devian Shelton

The USC Trojans have secured some signings from prospects Gerald Bowman, Jabari Ruffin, and Devian Shelton.

Bowman comes in as a safety prospect from Woodland Hills Community College. He was originally set to sign as an early enrollee and therefore sign as part of the 2011 class, but late finishes to his classes resulted as a mid-year enrollee, which counts towards the 2012 class.

Bowman is the top junior college prospect on Rivals.com and a 4-star prospect. As a big hitter, scouts project him to play at strong safety.

Ruffin hails from Downey, Calif. and attended Downey High School. According to Rivals.com, Ruffin is the top outside linebacker prospect and No. 40 overall prospect. An Army All-American, Ruffin has incredible speed for his size, which benefits the USC defense against spread offenses. Ruffin committed to the Trojans early on and recruited for USC along the way.

Shelton was just recently offered by the Trojans, who was committed to the Oregon State Beavers before signing. Shelton is an Inglewood high school prospect who mans the wide receiver, cornerback, and running back position. It is unclear which position the Trojans offered Shelton as, but cornerback is where he is projected.
