The USC Trojans are in play for defensive end Leonard Williams, rated No. 53 overall by Rivals, on National Signing Day 2012. The 6'5", 254-pound Williams is rated a four-star recruit by Rivals, and has narrowed his choices to USC, Florida, Florida State, and Auburn. It might be tough for the Trojans to pry the Daytona Beach star out of Florida.
Williams, rated the ninth-highest defensive end by Rivals, will announce his decision at 8 a.m. PST. The Trojans are considered a long shot to land Williams. "Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami and USC. My top three is Auburn, Florida and Florida State. They've been on me the hardest, showing me their strengths," the Mainland High School standout told SB Nation in early January.
Lane Kiffin and the Trojans need reinforcements on a defensive line that saw junior Nick Perry declare for the 2012 NFL draft and lost seniors Christian Tupou and DaJohn Harris.
