Leonard Williams was the sole member of the USC Trojans named to the Fox Sports Freshman All-America First Team. Williams saw action in 12 of USC's games, registering 50 tackles for the year, 13 of them for a loss.
Williams had 7.5 sacks on the season, had one interception and got a hand on three other passes. Though he recorded no forced fumbles, he did recover one in the game against Washington.
USC recruited Leonard from the bountiful high school football fields of central Florida, where the Daytona Beach native passed up several high-profile local programs to attend Southern California. A true freshman, he's likely to contribute to Trojan efforts for a long time to come.
USC had a second player on the freshman All-America Second Team: wide receiver Nelson Agholor. Also a Florida native, Agholor had 19 receptions for 340 yards in 2012, an average of 17.9 yards per catch, and also had two touchdowns.
