The sophomore wideout may have had his Heisman hopes dashed in the last few games of the season.

USC Trojans sophomore wide receiver Marqise Lee was not invited to New York as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy Award presentation, ESPN announced on Monday.

Johnny Manziel, Collin Klein and Manti Te'o were each named finalists for the prestigious award and will be present on Saturday when the winner is announced. Lee's hopes were essentially dashed when the UCLA Bruins defeated the Trojans and took hold of the Pac-12 South title. Had the Trojans prevailed, Lee would have had one more game to impress the voters before they cast their votes.

On the year, Lee had 112 receptions for 1,680 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Inglewood, Calif. native added 12 rushing attempts for 106 yards for an average of 8.8 yards per carry. He totaled 1,786 yards from scrimmage on 124 plays.

The Trojans had a disappointing season in 2012, finishing 7-5 in the Pac-12 South division. They lost to UCLA in the annual inner-city rivalry game and the following week fell to another rival, Notre Dame.
