The USC Trojans are projected to participate in the Alamo Bowl after suffering a 62-51 loss to Oregon on Saturday, according to Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com.
The Trojans fell to 19th in the BCS Standings and 21st in the AP Poll and are projected to play West Virginia in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29.
Palm predicts that Oregon will represent the Pac-12 in the National Championship game versus Alabama while Oregon State will play Nebraska in the Rose Bowl.
After opening the season with five consecutive wins, West Virginia has lost three in a row to fall to 5-3 on the season and 2-3 in the Big 12. The Mountaineers lost 39-38 in double overtime to TCU last Saturday and were blown out by Texas Tech and Kansas State the previous two weeks.
Despite the losing streak, West Virginia is still averaging 40.8 points per game which ranks ninth nationally. The Trojans are averaging 36.8 points per game on offense which ranks 24th in the country.
