USC vs. Oregon score: Trojans trail in 34-24 shootout at halftime

The Oregon Ducks are firing on all cylinders, but a couple of home-run plays have kept the USC Trojans in the game, as the Trojans trail, 34-24, at halftime.

Believe it or not, points were left on the field late in the half. With the score at 34-24 and just more than two minutes left, Oregon marched deep into USC territory, but quarterback Marcus Mariota fumbled at the Trojan 15-yard line. USC turned that around into a quick drive of its own, but receiver Marqise Lee fumbled at Oregon's 15-yard line.

Kenjon Barner has tallied 169 rushing yards for Oregon, including two touchdown runs in the second quarter. With five minutes left in the second quarter, Mariota completed one of his three touchdown passes to Daryle Hawkins to put the Ducks up, 34-17.

But USC would respond as Matt Barkley hit Nelson Agholor on a 76-yard touchdown bomb to cut the deficit to the 34-24 halftime margin. It was the second deep score of the frame, as Barkley also completed a 75-yard touchdown pass to Lee for the Trojans' first touchdown of the game.

Barkley is 17-26 for 303 yards and three touchdowns, with both Lee and Agholor over 100 receiving yards on the day. The teams have combined for 864 yards through two quarters.
