The USC Trojans look like they've begun to recover from their early-season loss to the Stanford Cardinal, riding a two-game winning streak to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies. USC generally had their way with Cal in a 27-9 victory, then took down Utah, 38-28, overcoming an early two-touchdown deficit to move to 4-1 on the season.

USC now takes on Washington, a team that has given them trouble ever since Steve Sarkisian arrived in Seattle. Washington is reaching the tail end of the most difficult part of their schedule, and they've managed to stay above .500 at 3-2.

Lane Kiffin was on the Pac-12 coaches teleconference on Tuesday, and touched a little bit on both the Trojans and their opponents this week. Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times has some of Kiffin's most memorable quotes. Here's Kiffin talking about expectations on USC football going into the season.

Kiffin... said that does add a different dynamic to a season and that "the biggest issue that comes with that is what they hear from everybody else'' and that initially they hear how great they are and then when they lose they hear "what's wrong with you. ... that can take a toll on you.'' He said as coaches they try to concentrate on preparing for each game and that "it's always about you and your preparation'' and not what is being said outside the program.
