Coaches Poll, Week 7: USC climbs to No. 9

USC is moving up the Coaches poll after a second straight win on Thursday.

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The USC Trojans are climbing back up the Coaches Poll Top 25, as they rose three spots to No. 9 in Week 7. Southern Cal defeated Utah on the road last Thursday, while several teams ahead of them fell on Saturday.

Losses by Texas, Georgia, and Florida State opened the door for the Trojans' return to the top 10. LSU also lost in front of USC, but only dropped to No. 8 this week.

The Trojans are joined by three other Pac-12 teams in the poll. Oregon remains at No. 2 after blowing out the Washington Huskies on Saturday night. Oregon State moves up to No. 14 followed their fourth straight win to start the season, a 19-6 victory over the Washington State Cougars. Stanford is at No. 17 after narrowly escaping with an overtime win against the Arizona Wildcats.

The Trojans put their ranking on the line when they travel to Seattle and face Washington on Saturday. The Huskies have already knocked off one top-10 team this season, defeating the Cardinal in Week 5.
