USC vs. Utah score: Trojans clinging to lead

The USC Trojans continue to lead the Utah Utes 24-21 after a missed opportunity to score in the third quarter.

After battling back from 14-10 down in the second quarter, USC forced Utah to punt and looked poised to score when Matt Barkley completed five straight passes that led to put the Trojans on the Utes 11 yard line. Then Silas Redd rushed for a loss of two, then the Trojans got flagged for holding, which led to Andre Heidari missing a 40 yard field goal attempt.

After once again forcing the Utes to punt, the Trojans were marching down the field again before the quarter clock struck zero. Matt Barkley finished the quarter up to 215 yards and two touchdowns. Marqise Lee has nine catches for 104 yards, Robert Woods with 69 yards on six receptions. Silas Redd leads the Trojans on the ground with 77 yards and one touchdown.
