USC vs. Utah score: Matt Barkley rallies Trojans back to 24-21 halftime lead

The offense has picked up in the second quarter between the USC Trojans and the Utah Utes, and USC has recovered with 17 second quarter points to take a 24-21 lead at halftime.

After USC cut the lead to 14-10, Utah marched back down the field thanks to some big connections between Jon Hays and his wide receivers. Hays found Kenneth Scott again for 12 yards, then connected with DeVonte Christopher for 27 yards and an 18-yard touchdown to give the Utes an 11-point lead.

Back came USC, as Matt Barkley found Robert Woods for 41 yards. Woods had just recovered from this hit.

Woods has looked fine since returning to the field though.

Then Barkley found Randall Telfer for a 23-yard touchdown pass, where Telfer pulled a Dominique Byrd with a one-handed grab.

After Utah fumbled the ball on its next offensive possession, Silas Redd set up a Barkley-to-Woods connection for a go-ahead score.

Utah recovered with a nice long drive to end the first half, but had a touchdown called back for an ineligible man downfield, and the Utah field goal was blocked.
