The USC Trojans fell to No. 18 in this week's AP Top 25 after their loss to the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday. Their crosstown rivals, the UCLA Bruins, were more successful in the desert, beating the Arizona St. Sun Devils on a last-second field goal. That win has propelled UCLA back into the rankings at No. 25.
The Los Angeles schools are among six Pac-12 teams in the rankings this week. The Trojans will host the Oregon Ducks next Saturday. The Ducks remain at No. 2 after a 70-14 shellacking of the Colorado Buffaloes.
The Oregon St. Beavers dropped to No. 13 after suffering their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Washington Huskies. The Huskies received eight votes in the poll for their efforts.
Arizona used their upset victory to move into the rankings at No. 24. Stanford narrowly beat the Washington St. Cougars, but still rose to No. 15.
