USC vs. Arizona: What to watch for from Trojans

The No. 9 USC Trojans take on the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday. A victory would mark the 800th win in USC football history and help solidify USC's hold on the top spot in the Pac-12 south.

SB Nation's USC blog Conquest Chronicles has a post up highlighting some things to watch for, and two of the things they highlight on offense have to do with Matt Barkley. The senior went 19-for-20 against Colorado in Week 8, tossing six touchdowns spread out among four receivers. Conquest Chronicles points out that the Wildcats are 116th among FBS teams in pass defense, allowing an average of 291 yards passing. Robert Woods had four of Barkley's six touchdowns, and the duo should have plenty of opportunity to connect again on Saturday.

Another issue on offense is left tackle, where Aundrey Walker's performance in the first seven games of the season led to the coaches opening up a competition at the position. Freshman Max Tuerk took reps in practice, and with Walker leaving the game vs. Colorado with a neck injury, Tuerk may see a start vs. Arizona. Barkley may have to make his decisions a bit quicker than average with untested protection on his blind side.

The full post at Conquest Chronicles outlines things to look for on defense as well as overall issues. so don't miss it.
