The USC Trojans have opened up the position battle at left tackle as they prepare for the Colorado Buffalos, Reign of Troy reported on Tuesday.
Freshmen Max Tuerk took most of the repetitions with the first team in Tuesday's practice in place of Aundrey Walker. It was a position battle that was open early in the season, and head coach Lane Kiffin felt the need to revisit the conversation.
Walker has helped his cause much as he is the most penalized player on the team. USC is the sixth most penalized team in the nation, averaging 10 penalties worth 80 yards every game.
The Trojans get to enjoy much of the rest of the season at home, playing five of their final six games in southern California. Colorado heads to Los Angeles on a two game losing streak. They are 1-5 on the year, with their lone win over Washington State University.
