USC Football Recruiting: Top OT Prospect Zach Banner Could Come To The Trojans

The USC Trojans are focusing on their recruiting in preparation for national signing day on February 1. One of the prospects they're keeping an eye on is four-star offensive tackle Zach Banner.

Chris Egan of King-5 TV in Washington tweeted on Saturday night that he believes Banner is deciding between signing with the Washington Huskies and the USC Trojans. Egan says the official announcement will come on Monday.

If the Trojans happen to miss out on luring Arik Armstead, Banner could go a long way toward lessening that blow. Certainly, USC will be hoping to snag at least one of the top linemen preparing to enter college. With Matt Kalil entering the NFL Draft, they will have some holes to fill in the upcoming season.

The Trojans are one of five teams to pay a home visit to the 6-foot-8, 305-pound player, along with Washington, Michigan, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. Over a dozen other schools have made offers. According to Banner's ESPN scouting report, he excels at pass blocking and possesses both strength and toughness.
