The USC Trojans look to snap their longest losing streak in 22 years as they host the Colorado Buffaloes Thursday night at Galen Center in the first-ever Pac-12 meeting between the two schools. The Trojans have lost eight straight games, their longest losing skid since a 13-game streak in 1989.
The Trojans (5-14, 0-7) lost 10 straight games in 1996, but one of the losses was later forfeited by Cal. Their 0-7 start in conference play is the worst conference start for USC since that dreadful 1989 season, which began 0-12 in the Pac-10.
With the loss of Aaron Fuller, 7-foot center Dewayne Dedmon has stepped up, averaging 13.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in the last two games, all while making 64.7% (11 for 17) of his shots from the field. USC is 3-2 all-time against Colorado, with their last meeting all the way back on December 20, 1975, a 94-72 win for the Trojans.
Colorado (13-6, 5-2) comes to town fresh off a home sweep of the Arizona schools last weekend, and the Buffaloes have won eight of their last 10 games. Colorado boasts four players scoring in double figures this season, led by senior guard and Riverside native Carlon Brown, averaging 13.4 points per contest. Sophomore forward Andre Roberson leads the Pac-12 in rebounding at 11.1 boards per game, a full three rebounds per contest more than his closest competitor.
