2012 NFL Mock Draft: Nick Perry Headed To New York Jets

Nick Perry certainly has the size, skill and athleticism to be a dynamic playmaker in the NFL. His numbers with the USC Trojans speak for themselves and many view him as a first round talent. While there are some questions surrounding his motor and technique, this latest mock draft from Mocking The Draft sees Perry going No. 16 overall to the New York Jets. Here is a breakdown:

16. New York Jets (8-8) - Nick Perry, DE/OLB, USC - The Jets need to add a pass rusher to their defense and Perry is a fantastic prospect. His value is all over the place but I think he ends up being drafted in the top 20 so this is not really a reach.

The Jets have quite a few areas of their team they would like to improve upon, but their front-seven desperately needs to improve if Rex Ryan hopes to get back to the playoffs. The team could also opt to bolster their offensive line with the No. 16 pick, but it appears there may be slim pickings this late in the round.
