It is going to be a busy day for college basketball in Southern California on Saturday, with no less than four games involving local schools scheduled to tip off throughout the day. The UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, Long Beach St. 49ers, Pepperdine Waves and UC Santa Barbara Gauchos will all be in action. After the jump, we provide you with information about all four games, including times and viewing information.
In Pac-12 action, the UCLA Bruins will be wrapping up a three-game road series when they visit the Oregon Ducks. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:07 PM PT, with the game being televised on Fox Sports Net/Fox Sports West. Your announcers for the game will be Barry Tompkins on play-by-play and Marques Johnson on analysis. The Ducks are currently 5-2 in conference play, while the Bruins are 3-3.
The Pepperdine Waves, currently 1-7 within the WCC and holding an overall record of 7-11, will host the BYU Cougars. The last time these two teams met, BYU came away with the lopsided 82-53 win. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM PT and will air on FOX Sports West. Dave McCann and Steve Cleveland are the announcers for the game.
The Long Beach State 49ers, who are currently a perfect 6-0 in the Big West, are hitting the road to play UCSB, who are 4-1 within the conference. The teams rank first and second in the Big West, respectively and have met in the conference tournament final in each of the past two years, with UCSB getting the big win both times. This game could very well be a preview of yet another final matchup. Tip-off is at 8:00 PM PT at The Thunderdome in Santa Barbara. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Your announcers will be Mark Neely on play-by-play, with Jalen Rose providing color commentary.
Finally, the USC Trojans will be in Pac-12 play against the hometown Oregon St. Beavers. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM PT and is scheduled to air on FOX Sports West. Your announcers for the game will be Paul Sunderland and Brandon Granville calling the action and Amy Bender reporting from the sideline.
