2012 NFL Mock Draft: USC Trojans Star DE Nick Perry Projected For Second Round

There is no denying the talent that USC Trojans defensive end Nick Perry possesses. He features size, strength and an ability to be a disruptive pass rusher. While some have Perry projected somewhere in the back-end of the first round, the latest mock draft from Russ Lande does not and likely has him going early in the second round.

A 21-year old junior, Perry recorded 9.5 sacks this past season and came away with 55 tackles. He did not force any turnovers, although he burst onto the scene with a big second half against the Oregon Ducks on national TV. He has seen his name linked to the Seahawks, Packers, Ravens and Titans by various other mock drafts.

While he may have to wait a little longer than he would have originally liked, Perry projects to have a long, prolific career at the next level. As long as he puts the work in, a team will be getting a heck of a defensive end early in the second round.
