The USC Trojans saw one of their many high-profile wide receivers leave the program when Brice Butler made the call to move on. Butler isn't going too far though, just headed down the I-5 highway to San Diego to play for the San Diego St. Aztecs.
Butler and Brandon Carswell were the main third options last season behind top options Robert Woods and Marqise Lee. Although Butler figured to be a strong third receiver next season with this dynamic duo, it's unlikely that the Trojans would be able to give him the touches he needed to showcase his ability and elevate his draft stock. By moving onto a program like San Diego State, he'd have a better chance to be the top man among all receivers.
USC is starting to lose their great wide receiver depth from last year, so Woods and Lee need to stay healthy to keep the Trojans deep passing game going the way it was in 2011.
