College Football Rankings, Week 4: USC Trojans No. 23 In AP Poll, Stanford, Oregon Both In Top 10

The USC Trojans had their first convincing win of the season on Saturday night, a 38-17 drubbing of the Syracuse Orange. As a result, USC rejoined the AP poll top 25, moving up to No. 23 in the latest college football rankings. The Pac-12 has three teams in the top 25, with the No. 5 Stanford Cardinal and No. 10 Oregon Ducks joining USC.

The Trojans were No. 27 in last week's poll. Here is the full Associated Press top 10:

  1. Oklahoma Sooners (37 first place votes)
  2. LSU Tigers (14 first place votes)
  3. Alabama Crimson Tide (seven first place votes)
  4. Boise State Broncos (two first place votes)
  5. Stanford Cardinal
  6. Wisconsin Badgers
  7. Oklahoma State Cowboys
  8. Texas A&M Aggies
  9. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  10. Oregon Ducks

The Arizona State Sun Devils dropped out of the top 25 after their loss to Illinois, falling to No. 36 in the "others receiving votes" section. The Utah Utes are at No. 30, and California Golden Bears are at No. 43.
