2011 NFL Draft: Four USC Trojans Selected In First Four Rounds

A trio of USC Trojans have been selected after the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Offensive tackle Tyron Smith was taken ninth overall, by the Dallas Cowboys, on Thursday, and three of his teammates have been drafted on Friday and Saturday. Defensive lineman Jurrell Casey, cornerback Shareece Wright, and tight end Jordan Cameron were drafted by AFC teams.

Casey was picked 77th overall, the 13th pick of the third round, by the Tennessee Titans. "During the draft process, Casey slid down the draft board as the loaded crop of defensive linemen pulled away and Casey dropped," said Brian Floyd of SB Nation. "But Casey may be better than where he was drafted and many analysts had him high on their positional big boards, ranking him among the top-5 defensive linemen to start the draft." Wright was taken by the San Diego Chargers in the third round, with the 89th overall pick. Cameron was selected in the fourth round, the 102nd overall pick, by the Cleveland Browns.
