2011 NFL Draft Results: As Expected, USC's Tyron Smith Selected By Dallas Cowboys With No. 9 Pick

Despite there being nearly two months of rampant speculation leading up to the 2011 NFL Draft, there was not a whole lot of varied opinion about where USC’s standout offensive tackle, Tyron Smith, would wind up. Certainly in the top ten, and likely to the Dallas Cowboys. What do you know? The former USC Trojan, who left after his junior season to enter the NFL Draft, was scooped up by Jerry Jones and the ’Boys with the No. 9 pick.

At just a shade over 300 pounds, the 20-year old from Moreno Valley, California will have to get bigger and stronger at the next level. But a year or two in an NFL strength and conditioning program should more than do the trick. Smith certainly has the frame to put on a few pounds of muscle with out losing any agility and foot speed.
