The USC Trojans ended their season a week ago and were thus off on Saturday. Yet they still managed to gain in the Associated Press poll. The penultimate college football rankings are out and USC is No. 5 in the new AP poll. The Trojans were tied with the Boise St. Broncos for ninth in last week's poll. The Trojans' road win in Eugene against the Oregon Ducks proved huge.
USC is ineligible for both the Harris Poll and the USA Today coaches poll. The Pac-12 has three teams in the top five, joining the No. 4 Stanford Cardinal and the No. 6 Ducks. Oregon vaulted two spots from No. 8 last week after their Pac-12 Championship Game win over the UCLA Bruins on Friday night.
Here is the AP poll top 10:
- LSU (all 60 first place votes)
- Alabama
- Oklahoma State
- Stanford
- USC
- Oregon
- Arkansas
- Boise State
- Wisconsin
- South Carolina
USC has been ranked in the top 25 in nine of 15 Associated Press polls this season.
