USC Football Recruiting: Gerald Bowman Commits To The Trojans

The USC Trojans needed some quick fixes in their secondary this offseason. T.J. McDonald is only a junior, but there is a good chance he could leave early to declare for the 2012 NFL Draft. That means the safety position could be wide open for anyone who wants to play aside Jawanza Starling.

Gerald Bowman from Woodland Hills, Ca.'s Pierce Community College will be the one to make the leap, as he made his official commitment to USC earlier this afternoon. Bowman is one of the strongest junior college prospects in the country, and he could be an immediate impact player.

Here's a look at Bowman's recruiting tape. You can tell that he's a guy who knows how to handle himself properly from the safety position.

With USC short on scholarships the next few seasons, the Trojans need as much immediate help as they can get, and Bowman can be one of those guys who can try and shore up the defensive back depth immediately.
