After three games in which they seemingly couldn't buy a bucket, the USC Trojans were on fire Monday night. While most of the Los Angeles basketball attention was focused a few miles away with the Lakers and Clippers at Staples Center, the Trojans owned Galen Center on Monday with an 83-59 win over the TCU Horned Frogs.
USC shot 34.2% from the field in their last three games, all losses, and averaged just 46.7 points per contest during that losing streak. On Monday, the Trojans scored 42 by halftime, and shot 50.0% from the field.
Maurice Jones led the Trojans with 25 points on eight-of-16 shooting, including four of seven from three-point range. Jones also had seven assists for USC. The Trojans made eight of their 17 shots from beyond the arc.
Four USC starters scored in double figures as the Trojans beat their previous season high for points scored by (66) points. Aaron Fuller was the only starter not to score in double figures and he had nine points. USC hosts the Kansas Jayhawks on Thursday night at Galen Center in their final game before Pac-12 Conference play begins.
