USC Vs. Washington: Running Backs Marc Tyler, George Farmer Expected Back Against Huskies

The USC Trojans have run for 610 yards in their last three games, and look for an even stronger rushing attack this Saturday against the Washington Huskies. Lane Kiffin on Sunday said he hopes to have tailbacks Marc Tyler and George Farmer ready to go on Saturday, both recovering from injuries.

Kiffin noted that the injuries have really affected special teams the most, as the team has been forced to play several front line players in unfamiliar roles. But at running back, the Trojans could get some reinforcements back against Washington.

"It would be really good to get George back because of the spark he gives us as a playmaker on offense. But he was playing great for us on special teams," Kiffin said. "If we get him back and Marc back, it gives us a big back, which we don't have with the other guys."

The freshman Farmer is dealing with an ankle injury that has kept him out of the last two games. Tyler, who hasn't played since leaving the game against the Stanford Cardinal after just one carry after aggravating his shoulder, is also expected back.

Tyler, at 5'11", 230 pounds, is the largest of the Trojans' tailbacks. He has run for 438 yards on 97 carries this season, and average of 4.5 yards per rush, and two touchdowns this season.

Kiffin also noted that fullback Rhett Ellison will be back against Washington as well. "He could have played in the second half [against Colorado], we just didn't want to push him back out there," Kiffin said.
