USC Vs. Nebraska: Trojans Trail At Halftime

The USC Trojans marched out the same lineup from their opener, which includes walk-on Eric Strangis getting his second start of the season. The new look Trojans were able to hang with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, trailing by just two at halftime 25-23. Former USC signee Derrick Williams and USC alum Jerry Buss are in the building, as the Trojans look to fight back in the second half.

The Trojans have been without one of their high scores from the opener, Dewayne Dedmon, who picked up his second foul with 9:33 stil to play in the first half. Alexis Moore came in to give Maurice Jones a breather, and ended up the Trojans' high scorer with 8 points on three field goals. Moore also drew a pair of charges.

Nebraska has been led by guards Bo Spencer and Brandon Richardson who have combined for fourteen points. Spencer also has four rebounds, an assist, and a steal to go with his eight points. The Huskers were actually outshot by USC, but have gotten twice as many trips to the free throw line.

Jones and Dedmon have only three points between them, so better play out of them is a second half key. Fewer fouls, and finding someone to mark Bo Spencer are also keys going forward. There are many empty seats in the Galen Center, both those in attendance should be in for a good second half.
