Matt Leinart Gets His Second Chance With The Matt Schaub Injury

It's probably been sad for USC fans to watch Matt Leinart stumble around the NFL. He got his first chance with the Arizona Cardinals, but constantly struggled to make good use of his arm and was eventually benched in favor of Kurt Warner. Leinart got chances here and there when Warner went down to various injuries, but he was eventually cut and had to make his way elsewhere around the league, eventually settling as the backup for Matt Schaub and the Houston Texans.

Leinart gets another chance though. Matt Schaub's injury will sideline him for sometime, meaning the former star USC quarterback will get another shot at redemption. He definitely has a lot of tools to work with in Jacoby Jones and Owen Daniels, plus an all-pro running back in Arian Foster to hand the ball off towards. It's an ideal situation for Leinart to thrive and try and make a comeback and prove he isn't as much of a bust as people think he is.

If he can't succeed here, it's hard to imagine where Leinart will pan out. He's already approaching 30 and hasn't shown any of the necessary improvements to succeed at the next level.
