USC Vs. Nebraska: Basketball Game Between Football Powers

Tonight, at the Galen Center, the USC Trojans will tip off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The game starts at 7:30, and can be seen on Prime Ticket. This is the first televised game for the Trojans this year.

The Trojans have faced the Cornhuskers eight times over the years, the first time in 1963. USC holds a 5-3 advantage over that stretch, but Nebraska has won the last two meetings. In last year's meeting, Doc Sadler's boys won in Nebraska, when USC squandered a 20 point lead to lose 60-58.

Both teams opened their seasons with a win this past weekend. USC fought past Cal State Northridge at the Galen Center, winning 66-59. Dewayne Dedmon, Aaron Fuller, and Maurice Jones all scored 16 points for the Trojans, who didn't lack for firepower even with Jones the only returning starter. Nebraska opened up their season with a 65-48 win over South Dakota at home. Senior guard Caleb Walker scored a career high 16 points.

This will be the Trojans first big test, and will likely set the tone for the upcoming Las Vegas Invitational where the Trojans could face the #1 ranked North Carolina Tarheels. Certainly Jones hasn't forgotten how it felt to cough up a 20 point lead at home, and is looking for a measure of revenge.
