BCS Rankings Projections, Week 12: Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinal Could Switch Spots After Pac-12 Showdown

The game of the year in the Pac-12 Conference saw the Oregon Ducks assume control of the league with a 53-30 road win over the previously unbeaten Stanford Cardinal in Palo Alto on Saturday night. When the BCS rankings are released later Sunday night, Oregon is expected to rise to No. 4 in advance of their matchup with the USC Trojans next Saturday night in Eugene, essentially switching spots with Stanford.

Samuel Chi in his BCS projections at SB Nation has the same top six predictions as Brad Edwards of ESPN. Here are Chi's predicted BCS standings top 10:

  1. LSU
  2. Oklahoma State
  3. Alabama
  4. Oregon
  5. Oklahoma
  6. Arkansas
  7. Stanford
  8. Clemson
  9. Boise State
  10. Virginia Tech

Stanford was No. 4 and Oregon No. 7 in last week's BCS standings. Chi said the Cardinal are likely headed for the Fiesta Bowl for their second straight BCS bowl appearance. Oregon could be headed for the Rose Bowl, but they are still alive for the BCS Championship Game should Oklahoma State (and possibly Alabama) lose.

USC plays Oregon in Eugene next Saturday night at 5 p.m. PST in a nationally televised game on ESPN.
