The Michigan Wolverines have been hot in pursuit of Jordan Payton for quite some time, but the Oaks Christian star from Westlake Village is still taking his time trying to make a decision between a bunch of schools that includes ASU, Cal, Michigan, Notre Dame, and potentially (although who knows how long that interest will last with the current situation in State College) Penn State.
So Michigan is starting to look at other options, and Darius Powe from Lakewood is starting to look like an intriguing option for them. Justin Hopkins of 247Sports reports.
He was expected to visit Michigan for the night game bonanza with against Notre Dame but was forced to reschedule.
"I'm still trying to set that visit up but I haven't yet," Powe said. "After my season I should be able to sit down and get that trip planned. I really want to get out there, I love the offense and the fact they are a big-time school. Michigan, Oregon State and Utah are recruiting me the hardest right now."
Powe has been under-the-radar in terms of top wide receiver recruits in the West Coast. He has favored the Oregon St. Beavers and the UCLA Bruins along with Michigan, but it appears that UCLA has fallen a little bit down the ladder. And on this list of programs, it'd make perfect sense for Michigan to leap to the top.
